CAR HELP - Is my engine oil leaking, or is it just the wrong kind?

the electronic reader is just a timer it really doesn't check the level or actual condition of the oil, every time you change your oil you suppose to reset it, the correct oil is 5w-30 and 10w-40 wont hurt it the only problem is that it will work harder therefore burning more gas. Cadillacs always leak oil from valve covers gaskets and oil pan gasket, very common but if you don't see oil drips in your drive way you are ok.
