Are all cars computerized now? When did this start? What's the significance of computerized cars?

Pretty much, it all started in the mid/late 80's with fuel injection taking over in affordable cars. Significance is that cars are much more efficient and safer than they ever were before. Only downside is the fragility of electronic systems compared to mechanical things.
