Having lots of qualifications?

I am about to finish AAT technician level and only have 2 exams left. Budgeting and performance management. Ive already passed business taxation,personal taxation and drafting financial statements. I have an AAT foundation and AAT intermediate as well as a city and guilds level 2 in computerised accounts. I am about to finish an ITQ (information tecnology) qualification and i have GCSE'S as well. Can all these qualifications stop me from being employed as there are lots of people who have less qualifications who are employed. I understand there is a recession but i have been trying to get a job for over a year and a half but no luck. I just cant get hired?
